Williamsburg Host Lions Club

Est. 1934 & Still Serving!

Lionism is all about giving bnext ack to the community -- so let us us welcome you to our site and thank you for your interest in Lions!  Our club, established in 1934, has a proud history of community involvement and selfless service in the Williamsburg area. We invite you to learn more about our club by exploring this site and familiarizing yourself with our history. Lions Clubs comprise the world's largest service (not fraternal) organization, so the opportunities to get involved and make a difference are limited only by your time and imagination.
Involvement is out watchword:  as Lions, we are actively involved locally and internationally in supporting our communities and enriching the lives of others. If you are interested in the “Big Picture” and how Lions Clubs assist people globally, please read on! The summaries and links below will acquaint you with the organization at the macro level and illustrate how our local efforts and initiatives contribute to the larger picture.
Naturally, if you are interested in speaking with someone about our mission, projects, fundraisers, or visiting (and perhaps joining) the club, we would be delighted to talk with you! Our membership director,Lion Pat Kerr, can be reached at (757)  229 0991 or via email to Lionpatk@cox.net While we are first and foremost a service club, as opposed to a social club, we take special pride in the high level of camaraderie and fellowship among our members. We are actively seeking new members and hope that you will take the time to learn more about our club, our service projects, and Lionism.
Serving our community – and encouraging other service-minded people to serve their communities – is an essential aspect of our club’s purpose. As Lions, we take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of our community. Toward that end, our fundraisers and service projects are designed to benefit the community in general and the less fortunate in particular. One hundred percent of the proceeds from our Lions Club activities are used to support such programs; club members pay their own way for expenses such as meals, travel and accommodations to participate in Lions events, and event registration/participation fees.

Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness, but we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.
